FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FARMS.com Introduces New Cattle Marketing Service
Now there is a better way for ranchers, producers and brokers to meet, trade and get their best price. Farms.com, Ltd. announces the addition of the Cattle Exchange to its leading agricultural website following a successful test sale held Jan. 10, 2001.
The Farms.com Cattle Exchange went online to offer a premium national marketing service using the power of the Internet to bring beef cattle buyers and sellers together.
"Our mission is to develop the most effective online auction platforms possible and make them available for use by the leading livestock commission companies in the nation. We believe that by hosting auctions for multiple firms on a single web site we will provide buyers with an efficient and attractive procurement tool, with subsequent benefits for the seller." Said Doug Maus – President of Farms.com
The first Commission Company operating on the Cattle Exchange is CattleNet, a partnership of well-known and trusted industry leaders that will operate a dynamic buy/sell exchange on the Farms.com platform. The founding members of CattleNet are Prairie Livestock Inc., Lavaca Cattle Co., Grady Livestock and M & F Trading, Inc. In addition to CattleNet sales, the Farms.com Cattle Exchange also facilitates the sale of cattle through Producers Video Auctions.
Buyers on the Cattle Exchange can bid on multiple lots of cattle that stay right on the ranch. Once sold, these cattle are shipped directly to their destination, reducing shrink and the stress that can lead to health problems. This means heavier, healthier cattle going onto grass or entering feedlots.
The Cattle Exchange helps sellers to find the right buyer through access to a wider market. For buyers, the Cattle Exchange provides a broad offering of accurately represented cattle with the confidence of dealing with reputable firms and the integrity of trusted relationships.
"Farms.com is dedicated to delivering producers the knowledge and opportunity to minimize business risks while maximizing profits" says Doug Maus of Farms.com. "We are excited by the prospects of this initial introduction of services for cattle producers."
The Farms.com Cattle Exchange can be accessed at www.farms.com/cattle.Upcoming sales and the results of past sales are posted for easy viewing.
