Farms.com Ltd. acquires AgFreight.com

Ames, Iowa - Farms.com Ltd., a leading information and marketing company that provides innovative solutions to the North American Agriculture and Food industry announced that it has acquired the business of AgFreight.com, the leading online freight matching service for bulk agriculture commodities.
The AgFreight.com website has been in operation since 1999 and helps ag truckers find loads to run their operations more efficiently. Shippers of ag commodities, such as grain, feed and fertilizer can post their loads on the website for free and truckers contact them to arrange for more efficient transportation of their products. Currently, the AgFreight.com website has a large searchable database of load listings and is used by hundreds of shippers and truckers across North America. There is also an extensive list of information such as commodity prices, highway conditions and fuel prices.

“Strategically, AgFreight.com is a great fit for the Farms.com business, says Joe Dales, Vice President of Farms.com, “transportation and logistics are very important in agriculture and the internet is an excellent way to host and use information. This online service will be a great benefit to our customers helping them save time and money.
