AgCareers.com Releases 2010 Job Analysis Report
An analysis of 2010 trends from AgCareers.com yields a positive outlook for the agriculture industry.
AgCareers.com recently published the 2010 U.S. Agribusiness Job Report and the 2010 Canadian Agribusiness Job Report and found that job postings were up significantly from the previous year, demonstrating the strength of the agriculture industry. Jobs posted ranged in industry type, such as agronomy, biotechnology, equipment/machinery, etc., which appeal to a large audience of job seekers. Posted jobs were from a wide variety of career types, from sales/marketing, to production.
Job seeker traffic was also up; with the number of times jobs were viewed increasing by double-digits in 2010. AgCareers.com attracts a wide variety of applicant traffic, including job seekers with several years of experience. Applicant traffic with over ten years of experience was the largest segment in 2010.
Below are a few other highlights of the report:
- Job views were over 7.5 million in 2010.
- The number of jobs posted in North America grew by 23%; there were over 36,000 jobs posted by companies in the United States and Canada in 2010.
- There were nearly 22,000 jobs posted in the Midwest region of the United States (highest posting region on AgCareers.com).
- More than 9,000 applications per month were submitted to jobs on average.
- Approximately 1,000 job postings were forwarded to family and friends each month in 2010.
