The receivers on the implement and the receivers on the tractor communicate with one another through Case IH’s display. Inside the tractor cab, operators then have additional flexibility. “The producer is really in complete control on how and when that system operates,” Quandahl said. “When we think about the needs of an individual corn plant, spacing is critical, whereas in other crops it’s less important. A producer could choose to use it while planting corn for example and not during other applications.” Farmers can use Active Implement Guidance on more than just planters and Case IH equipment. It is compatible with some Spudnik potato implements. And a generic kit is available for farmers to use with different brands of machinery. About 40 farmers are running Active Implement Guidance in 2024 to help ensure the systems, dealer training and other elements are in place. Case IH is looking at an early 2025 commercial release in Canada and the U.S. Anyone interested in learning more about Active Implement Guidance is encouraged to contact their local Case IH dealer.
