10 Agriculturally Based Charities

Heifer International helps families turn poverty into hope and prosperity. Families receive animals to produce milk, eggs and honey that can be traded or sold. The core goal for Heifer International is “Passing on the Gift.” Families share their training and pass on the first female offspring of their livestock to another family. The organization was founded by Dan West, a member of the Church of the Brethren who participated in the Spanish Civil War as an aid worker.
