Annona

Annona

Annona was the goddess of the grain supply in the city of Rome. She was typically shown holding a cornucopia and with a ship’s prow in the background, signifying grain coming to the city.

On coins she was pictured between a modius, which helps measure grain, and a ship’s prow while holding corn ears in one hand.
