7 Wrestling Connections to Agriculture

Andre the Giant

Andre the Giant

The open air of a farm was one of the places that could accommodate Andre the Giant, who had a billed height of 7 feet 4 inches tall (3.15m) tall.

Born Andrew Rene Roussimoff, he grew up on a farm near Molien, France where he spent years working as a labourer.

After achieving commercial success in North America for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), the wrestler purchased a 46-acre ranch in Ellerbe, N.C. where he kept some cattle.

When Roussimoff passed away in 1993, some of his wrestling colleagues gathered at the farm to spread some of his ashes on the property.
