Training program for tomorrow’s Ag technicians

AGCO Corporation has unveiled its NexTECH program at South Georgia Technical College, located in Americus, Georgia, targeting the training needs of future agricultural technicians. The program, which starts in January 2025, offers specialized training in precision agriculture and machinery maintenance.

By collaborating with SGTC, AGCO aims to bolster its workforce with technicians who are adept in the latest agricultural technologies, including those from renowned brands like Fendt® and Massey Ferguson®.

The NexTECH program integrates AGCO-specific content into the college’s diesel technology curriculum, enhancing it with real-world applications and AGCO’s sophisticated training resources.

Ash Alt, AGCO's Aftersales Training Manager, highlighted the program’s goals: “Our farmers and dealers need technicians skilled at maintaining the complex equipment they use, and AGCO’s NexTECH program is designed to fill the pipeline with motivated and highly trained technicians to keep them running.”

This educational initiative reflects AGCO's commitment to advancing agricultural practices through technology and skilled labor. Students interested in the NexTECH program may inquire about dealership-sponsored tuition benefits, linking education with future employment opportunities.
