Canadian ag equipment manufacturer replaces Board of Directors member who supported Russian action.

By Andrew Joseph, Farms.com

Buhler Industries Inc. of Winnipeg has replaced outspoken Board of Directors member Konstantin Babkin for his support of the Russian Federation’s actions against Ukraine.

Accepting the resignation of Babkin, Buhler stated that his views were in stark contrast to those of the North American executive team and do not reflect the position or values of the company.

Buhler Industries said it continues to strongly oppose the decisions of the Russian Federation and stands with the people of Ukraine, and that the changes to the Board of Directors was made to align the organization with the values of its Canadian-based leadership team.

Replacing Babkin is Adam Reid, currently the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, who has over 15 years experience with the company, and has been pivotal in recent growth, building trust and relationships with the Versatile dealer network.

Other changes include Grant Adolph, P.Mgr appointed as Chairman of the Board of Buhler Industries—currently a member of the Board and Chief Operating Officer, and has been with the company since 1975 holding various roles in product development, engineering, production and management.

Ossama AbouZeid, PhD, MBA has been appointed as a Director on the Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee. He has prior experience having served as President and Chief Financial Officer of Buhler Industries, and has served on a number of boards in the past and has an excellent understanding of the company's products, markets and overall operations.

AbouZeid replaces the retiring John Buhler who started Buhler Industries.

Headquartered in Winnipeg, Buehler Industries is a publicly traded company manufacturing and distributing its product through several brand names, including Versatile and Farm King. The Versatile line of equipment consists of tractors and tillage. Farm King supplies augers, mowers, bale carriers, snowblowers, and compact implements. The company has manufacturing facilities and warehouses in both Canada and the United States.

12 MMT of U.S. soybean purchases by China by year-end is better than 0 but we all need to give it more time and give it a chance to unfold. China did lower the tariffs on Ag and is buying U.S. wheat and sorghum.

U.S. government shutdown is now the longest in history at 38 days.
But despite a U.S. government shutdown we will be getting a USDA November crop report next Friday and it could be “game changing.” If the USDA provides a bullish surprise with lower U.S. corn and soybean yields and ending stocks that are lower than expected both corn and soybean futures will break out above their ceilings at $4.35/bu and $11.35/bu respectively.
The funds continued their selling in live and feeder cattle futures on continued fears that the Trump administration want to lower U.S. beef prices. The fundamentals have not changed, only market psychology has.
Stocks markets continue to worry about a weak U.S. job market, but you can blame ChatGPT for that. In the future, we will have a more efficient, productive and growing economy with a higher unemployment rate until we have more skilled AI workers.
After 34 new record highs in the S & P 500 and 124 new records in the NASDAQ in 2025 we are back to a correction and investor profit taking as AI valuations may have gotten too stretched near-term ahead of NVDA’s 3rd quarter earnings announcement on Nov. 19th. But this is not an AI bubble.
