Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show is an opportunity for farmers, manufacturers and other agricultural organizations to gather in one location to discuss the future of agriculture and the machinery needed to make it successful.

It’s also an opportunity for agricultural companies to make announcements that could have a ripple effect on the industry.

DuPont Pioneer was one of the companies with an announcement to make as they introduced the “Seed for Life” contest – the winner of which will receive up to $1.25 million in Pioneer seed over a 25 year period.

Seed for Life

"DuPont Pioneer strives to help farmers increase their profitability and improve their livelihood — and this contest reflects that," said Krista Klompstra, Marketing Manager for Eastern Canada, DuPont Pioneer in a release. "We hope growers are as excited as we are about the many opportunities this contest could create."

“Not having to buy seed for several years could help pay for college tuitions, family vacations or buying that piece of land next door,” said Collin Phillip, Business Director for Eastern Canada in a release. “To our knowledge, this contest is the first of its kind in our industry in Canada.”

The deadline to enter the contest is August 1st, 2016 and there are two ways to enter:

  1. Each purchase of Pioneer corn products will equal one entry into the contest. For those who purchase products and pay in full by December 4th, 2015 will receive two entries into the contest.
  2. Write a 250-word, hand-written essay describing what there is to love about Pioneer seed products.

The grand-prize winner will be announced on August 2nd, 2016 and could receive up to $50,000 of seeds per year for 25 years.

There is also five “Seed for a Season” secondary prizes where the winners will receive up to $10,000 of seeds.
