A farmer with a thirst for adrenaline combined agriculture with his passion for stunt-driving in a photo opportunity that landed him on the cover of a Canadian motorcycle magazine.

Originally from Windsor, Ont., Justin Guignard now calls Gravelbourg, Sask. home. During planting season he can be found on the farm seeding durum, canola and lentils. And during harvest he’s back on the farm harvesting those crops.

But in between those seasons, he’s usually operating a motorcycle in a manner many might consider dangerous, trying to build his stunt-driving portfolio for movie productions.

His latest stunt saw him ride a Harley Davidson motorcycle underneath a John Deere 4830 self-propelled sprayer as it traveled down a dirt road.

There is only 60 inches of crop clearance with standard tires on the sprayer, according to John Deere’s website, meaning Guignard had little room for error.

“On the first pass I hit my mirror off of a hose and when you’re ducking you obviously don’t have the best sight,” he told Farms.com. “My biggest challenge was avoiding the photographer. He was directly in front of the sprayer so I had to come out from underneath it and swerve to the left or else I’d hit him.”

Guignard estimates he performed the stunt about 13 times, including a handful of attempts going head-on with the sprayer.

And now his stunt will live on forever on the cover of Fast Times, a Canadian motorcycle magazine.

And for a motorcycle enthusiast like Guignard, it’s turned him into a bit of a celebrity.

“I got to do some signings at a release party in Toronto,” he said. “Hopefully this can lead to some film work."

Guignard’s friends on the farm know what he does when he’s not seeding or harvesting, but to others, his hobby may come as a shock.

“To most people I’m just another farmer, but my passion and drive is to perform stunt work.”
