A new CLAAS dealership opened in Crossfield, Alberta on August 2.

The dealership is the first to open since CLAAS of America and Germany’s BayWa AG announced a partnership to grow the business for CLAAS products in Alberta; the partnership was announced in April.

The dealership is placing a strong emphasis on in-field service, and service trucks will be operating immediately.

“Most importantly, we want to immediately begin building long-term relationships with growers in Alberta,” Jason Wilson, president and CEO of Alberta AG Centre said in a release.”

Wilson, who grew up on a mixed grain and cattle farm in Manitoba, knows what farmers look for and knows that they won’t tolerate cutting corners.

“You can’t fake it in this business,” he said in a release. “And our customers will quickly realize we’re the real thing.”

CLAAS recently opened an expanded Parts and Logistics Centre in Regina, and sees the Alberta location as a way to establish its place in the agricultural equipment landscape.

“Canada is an important market for CLAAS and we have ambitious targets to keep moving forward,” Eric Raby, president and general manager, sales, said in a release.
