Boosting forage efficiency with new holland tech

New Holland Agriculture has earned three prestigious AE50 Awards from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) for its innovative contributions to agricultural technology.

The awards recognize the company's cutting-edge products: IntelliSense™ Bale Automation, the CropSpeed Monitoring System, and the UltraFeed™ Pickup. These innovations are designed to enhance productivity, efficiency, and the overall quality of hay and forage operations.

“These awards highlight New Holland's unwavering commitment to hay and forage innovations. By continuously developing advanced technologies in this segment, New Holland ensures that farmers can achieve higher efficiency, better crop quality, and reduced operational costs.” Said Carlo Lambro, Brand President at New Holland. “The IntelliSense™ Bale Automation, CropSpeed Monitoring System, and UltraFeed™ Pickup are all designed to enhance the productivity and profitability of hay and forage operations, symbolizing New Holland's dedication to supporting farmers in their pursuit of excellence.”

The IntelliSense™ Bale Automation system, a recipient of the Silver Medal Award at Agritechnica 2022, revolutionizes the baling process. Specifically designed for New Holland's BigBaler range, it automates key baler and tractor functions, increasing productivity, bale quality, fuel efficiency, and operator comfort. The system utilizes advanced LiDAR technology for precise navigation and real-time adjustments, making it easier for farmers to operate the baler with less fatigue.

Another key innovation is the CropSpeed Monitoring System, which is integrated into the FR Forage Cruiser self-propelled forage harvesters. This system is the first of its kind, using a spout-mounted radar sensor to monitor the crop flow leaving the machine. By detecting changes in crop flow in relation to the harvester's speed, it helps prevent blockages and allows for quicker work resumption. It also provides less-experienced operators with greater confidence, ensuring higher efficiency with minimal training.

The UltraFeed™ Pickup head enhances the performance of the FR Forage Cruiser by efficiently managing larger windrows. Available in various working widths, it features a robust belt-driven driveline and an innovative auger design that boosts capacity and reduces maintenance. Additional features, such as the large roller windguard and optional auto greasing system, further optimize productivity.

These technological advancements will be formally recognized at the AE50 Awards, which will be presented at the Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference (AETC) from February 9-12, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. New Holland’s innovations exemplify the company's commitment to advancing farming technology.
