Provincial politicians visited Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show today

Premier Doug Ford stopped by the Farms.com booth at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show (COFS) today to chat with Maurizio Agostino, chief commodity strategist of Farms.com Risk Management, about the difficult growing season Ontario producers experienced.

Premier Ford was accompanied by Minster of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Ernie Hardeman, as well as Haldimand-Norfolk MPP Toby Barrett and Parliamentary Assistant for the Minister of Ag Randy Pettapiece. Barrett and Pettapiece have both been involved in agriculture throughout their careers and they always try to attend COFS.

In his chat with Agostino, Premier Ford acknowledged the hardships farmers experienced this year and said, “we are firm supporters of the agricultural industry in Ontario.”

Minister Hardeman also acknowledged the challenges, saying he knows that farmers are very concerned about the harvest season.

The Premier and MPPs stopped by COFS because they know that it is the country's largest outdoor agricultural trade show, and they wanted to demonstrate their commitment to the industry, they said.
