International Harvester's Farmall Model M tractors were the row-crop versions of the McCormick-Deering W-6. They were manufactured from 1939 to 1954 and in 1952 had a price tag of about $2,400. The M series of tractors came in various configurations including the MD, the company's first diesel tractor. The tractor had to be started with gasoline and slowly switched to diesel after warming up the entire engine. It also came in the MV "vegetable version" with high-clearance. Between 1939 and 1954, International Harvester manufactured 270,140 Model M tractors.
