Viterra Canada strikes new 4-year deal with grain workers union

Viterra Canada has successfully ratified a new four-year agreement with the Grain and General Services Union (GSU) Locals 1 and 2.   

This landmark deal covers 436 dedicated employees, including those in Saskatchewan and at the Regina office. 

The agreement was sealed following a membership vote, marking a significant step in employee-employer relations. Viterra Canada's revised offer hinges on a pay-for-performance structure.  

It includes eligibility for annual bonus payments under the company's Short-Term Incentive Plan, highlighting a commitment to recognizing individual contributions. 

Jordan Jakubowski, Viterra Canada's VP of Human Resources, expressed satisfaction with the agreement. "We've always worked fairly with our employees," he said. "This deal not only meets their needs but also ensures our business thrives with long-term labour stability." 

This agreement symbolizes a harmonious balance between employee welfare and business needs, reinforcing Viterra Canada's reputation for superior service and employee respect.  

"We're here to serve our customers with excellence," Jakubowski added, encapsulating Viterra's commitment in a single, powerful statement.
