2021 Cockshutt Club Convention Coming To Manitoba

The Manitoba Agricultural Museum (Austin, MB) announced the 2021 Manitoba Threshermen’s Reunion and Stampede festival will feature Cockshutt Farm Equipment and host the annual convention of the International Cockshutt Club. The 2021 festival takes place July 29 - August 1, 2021. This year's event was cancelled due to COVID-19.

“Providing unique attractions for our 11,000 annual visitors is key to the success of our summer festival,” said Angie Klym, President of the Manitoba Agricultural Museum. “We are excited to celebrate and educate our visitors on the profound impact Cockshutt farm equipment has had on Manitoba’s agricultural industry.”

The 2021 Cockshutt convention will highlight the 75th anniversary of the iconic Cockshutt 30 tractor, the first modern tractor designed and built in Canada. The tractor gained worldwide status for pioneering the use of live hydraulics and Live-Power-Take-Off systems to power attached equipment.

“Our club is excited to be coming to Western Canada for the first time in our 31 year history,” says Grant Weber, President of the International Cockshutt Club. "The Manitoba Threshermen’s Reunion and Stampede is a perfect fit to host the event which attracts hundreds of Cockshutt enthusiasts and exhibitors every year.”

Founded in Brantford, Ontario in 1877, the Cockshutt Farm Equipment Company was an independent farm manufacturer for over 85 years. Beginning with horse drawn plows, the company became known for a wide range of farm machinery built for Canadian Prairie agriculture. The company merged into the White Equipment Company in 1962.

Everything is running behind schedule this year on our sheep farm, and that includes getting the ewes and rams into their breeding groups. But better late than never, as today we get all the Dorset and Suffolk ewes dewormed, sorted, and put into their designated breeding pens. We also have one Suffolk ram in with his ewes, and hopefully, we will have another four rams in their groups tomorrow. A busy day sheep farming in this episode! We hope you enjoy ??
