4-H Nova Scotia Honours “Friend of 4-H” Award Recipients

Truro, Nova Scotia – 4-H Nova Scotia is thrilled to present the 2022 “Friend of 4-H” Award to four outstanding members of the 4-H Nova Scotia community- Sue Works, Scott Masters, Jeff Reeves, and Ruby Mackenzie. Awarded annually, the “Friend of 4-H” Award recognizes recipients who have supported 4-H significantly over the years and whose contributions have bettered the 4-H program in Nova Scotia.

Friends of 4-H Nova Scotia Award – Sue Works Sue Works was a dedicated 4-H leader for 16 years and general leader of the Clifton 4-H Club for many years. She was always able to find fun ways to engage the whole club to participate- she was notorious for her fun tongue twisters. Sue is a skilled seamstress who taught countless sewing members their skills- she was always willing to lend a helping hand. Sue embroidered the winning County on the Provincial Show flag for many years! Her creativity, helpfulness, and passion for the program were evident.

Sue served on the Board of Directors as Second Vice President, First Vice President, President, and Past President. She has always been a champion for members and moving the program forward. Sue has since retired from 4-H and can be found in downtown Truro at Atlantic Fabrics sharing her sewing interests with the community or spending time with her grandchildren while still contributing to her community.
