Agrimatics, creator of the highly successful Libra Cart weighing system, has announced the launch of Libra TMR, a ration weighing and data management solution. The new tablet and smartphone-based ration and data management system is expected to transform the way rations, pens and feed groups are built and managed.

“We’re excited to direct our proven Libra technology to the beef and dairy sector,” said Michael Lockerbie,” President and Co-Founder of Agrimatics. “Libra Cart has transformed the grain harvest landscape and we’re confident that beef and dairy producers will see the same value and benefit in Libra TMR that grain producers have enjoyed for years.

” The weatherproof Libra TMR hardware mounts directly onto the mixer, replacing existing traditional scale indicators and connects to any industry-standard load cells on the mixer. The Libra TMR app, which communicates to the device via Bluetooth, then allows the user to input and create their own ingredients, rations, pens and feed groups. Based on the feed rate and the number of head in each pen, the system will calculate the total batch size and will guide the user through loading and mixing each ingredient. Once the batch has been loaded, the system will indicate how much to distribute to each pen in the feed group.

Producers are now able to enter bunk readings when building rations, or even reload animal refusal for nutritionally accurate feed reuse. Operators can now also spread feedings over the course of a day, promoting better animal health and workflow efficiency. Ration and transaction summary data may be exported through email at any time.

“Tablets and smartphones have become a vital part of people’s lives,” said Jasmine Brodziak, marketing coordinator for Agrimatics. “Agrimatics is proud to provide quality products that connect mobile devices to equipment, making it easier and more convenient for users to obtain data on their farm.”

Libra TMR is being heralded for its simplified ration management, unlimited remote displays, ability to build and feed rations on a dry-matter or wet-weight basis and ability to automatically adjust a ration’s batch size based on the ingredients loaded.

Agrimatics was founded in 2012 and is the agricultural division of Bitstrata Systems, Inc., which provides end-to-end design and consultation services for electronics hardware and software development, specializing in connecting mobile devices to the physical world.

Video: You Be The Judge: Evaluating 8 Breeding Rams!

It's time for some honest feedback here at Ewetopia Farms! Today, we’re showing you all eight rams we used for breeding this year. Instead of just presenting them, we thought it would be fun to create a “Ram Report Card” — where we point out both their strengths and areas for improvement.

But here’s the twist: you be the judge! In the comments, let us know what you like about each ram and what you think could be improved. No ram is ever perfect, but every one of them brings something valuable to the flock. By sharing perspectives, we all learn more about what to look for in good breeding stock.

At Ewetopia Farms, we raise registered Suffolk and Polled Dorset sheep, focusing on high-quality genetics, structure, and friendly temperaments. Evaluating breeding rams is part of the bigger picture of building stronger flocks — and we’re excited to share the process with you.
