Farm Entrepreneurs Can Win Funding for Ag Innovations

Applications are officially open for the 2026 Ag Innovation Challenge, a national business competition created to support innovation in agriculture.

Organised by American Farm Bureau and partners, the contest encourages ag-based entrepreneurs to present creative ideas that solve real problems faced by farmers and ranchers.

The Ag Innovation Challenge focuses on startups and small businesses that aim to improve life in farm country. It welcomes entries from every area of agriculture, whether they’re working on crop production, animal care, food safety, climate-smart tech, or machinery innovation.

The competition is not only a platform to showcase ideas but also provides valuable funding. The top prize for the winning team is $100,000 in non-diluted funding. The runner-up will receive $25,000, and two other finalists will be awarded $10,000 each.

This gives businesses the financial boost they need to scale up and make their solutions accessible nationwide.

Past winners of the challenge have seen significant success. One previous winner, Grain Weevil, developed a robot for grain bin safety and is now launching its product across the country.

Another winner, SwineTech, built a piglet crushing-prevention product and has since raised millions and secured multiple patents.

This challenge is more than just prize money—it’s a chance for businesses to grow, connect with investors, and gain national recognition in the agriculture sector.

Interested ag entrepreneurs and innovators can apply online by visiting fb.org/challenge. Early applications are encouraged as competition will be strong and the opportunity is significant.

The Ag Innovation Challenge continues to be a driving force for change in American agriculture. It supports those who are passionate about solving farming problems with smart and practical business ideas.
