CFFO OFFERS NEW AND IMPROVED MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM

Cambridge, ON – The Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario (CFFO), along with their partners at the National Farmers Mental Health Alliance (NFMHA) are continuously improving their mental health program to better serve their membership and are excited to announce their newest mental health initiative.

“Farming is full of challenges and mental health and suicide are serious issues in our industry,” said General Manager Tom Tavani. “We want to do everything we can to support our farmers, and it is great to have the National Farmers Mental Health Alliance in our corner.”

The new program will offer, one-on-one counseling services, to all CFFO members and their immediate families, with a Christian therapist who understands the agricultural industry and the challenges that farmers face on a regular basis.

"The National Farmer Mental Health Alliance is encouraged by the foresight and leadership of the Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario as they work to provide specific mental health services to their membership," said Lauren Van Ewyk, co-founder, and CEO of the NFMHA.

The CFFO and the NFMHA are also planning two, in-person, evening events that will include dinner and a workshop, which will give an overview on mental wellness and will help those in attendance identify when a person is struggling and provide resources to help.
