President Donald Trump has announced Gregg Doud as his pick for chief agricultural negotiator for the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR). Mr. Doud is the current president of the Commodity Markets Council which has given him the experience to be an excellent representative of the agricultural community, and CLA applauds President Trump’s choice. Doud previously worked as a senior staff member of the Senate Agriculture Committee for Senators Pat Roberts and Thad Cochran and served as the chief economist for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association for eight years. Doud was raised on a dry-land wheat, grain sorghum, swine and cow-calf operation near Mankato, Kansas, and he owns part of his family’s farming operation.
