Deadly Hog Disease Continues to Spread in Europe

Poland recorded 55 outbreaks of African Swine Fever (ASF) in wild boar near the German border in December.
 
It's a sign the deadly hog disease is continuing to spread throughout Europe.
 
The German government said last month is was stepping up measures to prevent an outbreak after the disease first showed up in Poland.
 
Meanwhile, the government of China believes it finally has a handle on the disease. It's believed ASF wiped out nearly half of China's hog population in 18 months.
