What is Water Management?

Water management is defined as the control and movement of water resources, with the main goal of minimizing damage to nearby wildlife and land. This traditionally involves large-scale irrigation systems to better manage the resources at hand. By making water management a priority, producers can maximize the potential of their nearby water sources. Crops and animals will also benefit, in addition to the local ecosystem.

John Deere Precision Ag: Field & Water Management

John Deere has a wide array of water and field management products that producers can use to better control their natural resources. With items, such as precision technology displays and StarFire receivers, customers can micromanage their fields and make the most out of the water they have nearby. These John Deere solutions are also fine-tuned to provide the most accurate information, giving users peace of mind as they tend to their land.

John Deere Mobile Weather

John Deere Mobile Weather is all customers need to confidently work around everything from high winds to humidity. Producers know that crop protection is a must, and the John Deere Mobile Weather device can help them brace for whatever Mother Nature throws at them. Users can customize alerts and weather information to make more accurate decisions prior to spraying. Best of all, this information can be leveraged directly from the cab of whichever machine is in use.

Surface Water Pro™ Plus

With Surface Water Pro Plus from Deere, producers can map changes in elevation across their fields via Survey Mode. This data can be useful while creating ditches to enhance field drainage. Operators can also utilize this information to develop field levees for additional water management. The Surface Water Pro Plus system works with the GreenStar™ 2 2600 and GreenStar 3 2630 Displays, and can leverage the StarFire 3000 or StarFire 6000, AutoTrac™ assisted steering system, and iGrade™ leveling system. It has four modes: Survey, Levee, Basic Ditching, and Advanced Ditching. They each help to plan and create ditches and levees for optimal water management.
