Extension and PA Farm Link Collaborative Relationship to Help Farmers

Penn State Extension has actively been on the Pennsylvania (PA) Farm Link Board for several years with numerous Educators and other staff serving as board representatives.  What is PA Farm Link?  The PA Farm Link website describes the group as "a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to 'Link Farmers to the Future'."

Through an ongoing collaborative relationship based on educational outreach, Penn State Extension and PA Farm Link work together alongside other partner agricultural organizations to align goals with helping farmers and aspiring farmers in Pennsylvania.  An example of Penn State Extension and PA Farm Link educational collaborations include co-presentations during the Land Access Webinar Series  : Find, Lease, and Purchase Land in Pennsylvania.  PA Farm Link was specifically featured in the Finding Land  session of the webinar series in helping provide online tools for aspiring farmers to be able to properly search for land based on personal and business goals.  Penn State Extension and PA Farm Link’s collaborative relationship certainly helps farmer audiences to gather the right educational resources they need to succeed.

PA Farm Link has a very unique online land-linking database that can help current landowners Find a Farmer and current farmers or aspiring farmers to Find a Farm throughout Pennsylvania.  PA Farm Link occasionally promotes their database and allows people to register for free or reduced rates.  Penn State Extension actively shares this online tool for farmers in their local and statewide circles to try and help make future land-linking connections.
