France Has Driest July on Record With Crops Taking a Battering

The heat wave that has been affecting Europe for the last few weeks has had very bad impacts on crops and farmers in the region. In addition to the heat, they have experienced extremely dry conditions there (of course, the two are related), with France experiencing its driest July on record. Here is a recent story from Bloomberg on how much the crops have been hurt by the heat and lack of rain.

It seems like it was a long-time coming but we are finally on the fields planting corn. Cold, wet weather has made working the land and planting the first of our crops and difficult proposition but today we got at least one corn field done.
