Rotor Technologies’ Sprayhawk Can Spray Approximately 240 Acres Per Hour

Just how big is the world’s largest civilian spray drone? It’s big.

Rotor Technologies introduces the Sprayhawk, an innovative UAV agricultural spray drone.

Based on the Robinson R44 helicopter platform, this drone integrates cutting-edge technology to allow ground-based pilot control.

Farms.com saw this drone in-person, and it was something we needed to learn more about.

We connected with Charlotte Keys, product manager at Rotor Technologies, to do just that.

Keys explained that the Sprayhawk operates with partial autonomy, offering features like spray pattern guidance and advanced safety enhancements.

Despite its autonomy, a pilot remains involved, overseeing operations from a ground control station for optimal safety and precision.

The drone boasts impressive productivity, capable of covering up to 240 acres per hour and carrying a payload of up to 110 gallons, depending on chemical weight.

Rotor plans to deploy initial units in collaboration with select customer partners in 2025 to gather valuable feedback. Field operations in the Midwest are planned for the upcoming year, with a full-scale commercial launch anticipated by late 2025 or early 2026.

The pricing starts at $999,000 for early bird customers, with slight increases expected later.

Rotor Technologies’ Sprayhawk is set to redefine agricultural spraying, pairing efficiencies with modern automation, all while maintaining pilot control for precision and reliability.
