Crop Production Week has become a key event for farmers around the Province.
Shannon Chant, a Crops Extension Specialist with the Ministry of Agriculture, says the week provides producers with a great opportunity to learn what’s happening in the agriculture sector.
“I think the best thing about Crop Production Week is all the meetings that are going on. There are all different topics, there's so much information that's out there and you don't normally get that amount of expertise from different places in the same place at the same time.” She says it’s a good time now to be gathering information since we have some time before the growing season to get some new ideas.
“It’s good to talk to other producers, talk to industry, and see what's out there, so you can get more information. If you're looking for herbicides, fungicides, information on insecticides, as well as marketers you’ll find it this week in Saskatoon.”
Commodity meetings and AGM’s begin today at Prairieland Park and TCU place.
