Join USDA and USTR in shaping future agricultural trade

The U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative are searching for knowledgeable individuals to serve on important agricultural trade advisory committees. This initiative offers a platform for professionals to directly influence U.S. agricultural trade policies.

The central committee, the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee, advises on the execution and enforcement of current trade agreements, the negotiation of new ones, and various trade policy matters. This committee is instrumental in safeguarding U.S. agricultural interests internationally.

Additionally, there are six specialized Agricultural Technical Advisory Committees (ATACs) that focus on areas like animal products, fruits, vegetables, grains, processed foods, and more. These committees delve into technical aspects of international trade impacting specific agricultural sectors.

Ideal candidates are those with a solid background in U.S. agriculture and international trade experience. Serving for four years, members will engage in regular calls and attend biannual meetings in Washington, D.C. This volunteer role is a unique opportunity to serve the agricultural community and requires U.S. citizenship and a security clearance.

This initiative is more than a commitment; it's a chance to be at the forefront of U.S. agricultural trade discussions, influencing policies that affect millions. It's an opportunity for experts to lend their voice and expertise to the nation's trade strategies, ensuring U.S. agriculture thrives in the global marketplace.
