MFGA Aquanty Forecasting Tool on track for early 2023 launch

The Manitoba Forage and Grassland Association's (MFGA) Aquanty Forecasting Tool is expected to be launched early next year.

Funded by the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and developed by the scientific expertise of Aquanty Inc., the MFGA Aquanty Forecasting Tool will be launched and hosted on MFGA.net early in 2023.

The MFGA Aquanty Forecasting Tool has potential to be a valuable tool in the producer's tool kits as water-influencing climatic events such as drought and flood continue to showcase the potential for planning, awareness and resilience around land and water on farms and ranches.

"We are exactly on target for 2022 with our MFGA Aquanty Forecasting Tool, which bodes well for where we should be on the project and how we're going to be able to bring the technology and the tool to individual producers via a bunch of interactions and meetings and focus groups that we're going to be holding this year," said MFGA Executive Director Duncan Morrison. "What the Aquanty Forecasting Tool will do, will give producers the ability to access decision support within their forecasting tool to help them make important land management decisions on their farm."

The online tool will benefit farmers and land managers across the Assiniboine River Basin.
