New Saskatchewan agriculture minister

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe announced his new cabinet.

Among the changes will be a new leader in the agriculture portfolio.

Daryl Harrison has been appointed the new the Minister of Agriculture replacing David Marit who becomes Minister of Highways and Minister of SaskBuilds and Procurement.

Other notables include Eric Schmalz as the new Minister of Government Relations and Minister of Trade and Export Development Warren Kaeding.

The new 16-member cabinet is two ministers smaller than the previous one and there is a new minister in every portfolio.

Federal Agriculture Minister Heath MacDonald speaks with reporters in Ottawa following the launch of public consultations on the government’s next agricultural policy framework.

Also speaking are Sophie Chatel (parliamentary secretary to the agriculture minister), Yasir Naqvi (MP for Ottawa Centre), Kerry-Leigh Burchill (director general of the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum), and Keith Currie (president of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture).
