Next Level Farming Meetings Kick Off In Vulcan

Farmers and industry representatives met in Vulcan on Tuesday, November 12 to get an update from Alberta's pulse, barley and wheat commissions.

The Commissions' Next Level Farming events are taking place across the province this month, and Alberta Pulse Growers Executive Director, Leanne Fischbuch, says this was their first regional and zone meeting on the tour.

"There's always business meetings for each of the organizations, so it was great to hear the updates from the various commissions, and it's very important for us to share that with our farmer members."

Fischbuch says they also had speakers covering topics like insects, water quality monitoring, markets and weather trends, and rotations.

"There's great opportunities for the farmers to come out. Not only do you get to talk with the experts within the commissions who have a lot of information, but we also bring a lot of experts to share information with them as well."

There was about 47 people at the meeting held at the Vulcan Lodge Hall.

She says the events are free, and you can register and find an event near you by visiting one of the Commissions' websites.
