Ontario's Government for the People Supporting Trades, Labourers and Workers

Toronto — Today, Premier Doug Ford spoke to assembled members of the Laborers' International Union of North America (LiUNA) in front of the provincial legislature at Queen's Park.

"We will always fight for frontline labourers who work hard for a living, those who just want to pay the bills and put food on the table," said Ford. "Our government will always stand by workers. If you are prepared to do the work, then you deserve a shot at the job."

One of North America's oldest unions, LiUNA has over 100,000 Canadian members and retirees, including workers in construction, waste management, show service and healthcare.

"Our government will make more investments, create more jobs and opportunities and get Ontario's economy growing again," said Ford. "We're putting a big sign up in Ontario that says 'Open for Business,' with opportunities for everybody."
