Registration For Crop Diagnostic Week Is Open

Saskatchewan's Ministry of Agriculture's 2021 Crop Diagnostic Week is going virtual this year.

Crops Extension Specialist Allie Noble says the online program runs July 26th to 29th.

"Monday we'll touch on soil fertility and compaction, Tuesday we'll be talking about insects and canola disease. On Wednesday we'll be talking about weed identification and herbicide injury, and on Thursday we'll be talking about all the stuff going on with irrigation in Saskatchewan."

Anyone interested in taking part in Crop Diagnostic Week can google Prairie.CCA and fill out the registration form.

Dr. Peter James Facchini leads research into the metabolic biochemistry in opium poppy at the University of Calgary. For more than 30 years, his work has contributed to the increased availability of benzylisoquinoline alkaloid biosynthetic genes to assist in the creation of morphine for pharmaceutical use. Dr. Facchini completed his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at the University of Toronto before completing Postdoctoral Fellowships in Biochemistry at the University of Kentucky in 1992 & Université de Montréal in 1995.
