Saskatchewan Stock Growers Elect New President

The Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association held its first virtual AGM this week.

After serving as President for 2 1/2 years Bill Huber handed the reins of the organization over to Kelcy Elford.

Elford is humbled by the honor but ready to take on the task:

"I've always believed that if you're going to be a member everybody should take a turn in serving at the local level and if you have the opportunity at a higher level.
This organization is rich in history and with 107 years behind us the benefit that they've had for producers in this province is unmeasurable."

He says going forward there are some great opportunities for the industry from reopening the border and making sure we have a level playing field with our friends to the south, to the recent irrigation announcement that will really help the livestock sector grow in the province.
