SaskOilseeds Announces Results of Board Election

SaskOilseeds is pleased to announce the results of its recent board election. Newly elected is Patricia Lung. Re-elected directors are Dean Roberts, Codie Nagy, and Dave Altrogge. Directors are elected for a four-year term and are eligible to run for a second term, for a total of eight years.

We invite interested parties to attend SaskOilseeds’ Annual General Meeting on January 15, 2025, in Saskatoon, held in conjunction with Sask Crops Forum, to meet and network with the Board representing 20,000 Saskatchewan oilseed growers.

Roberts farms with his family near Coleville, Saskatchewan, growing wheat, barley, flax, lentils, peas and canola. He received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and all through school knew farming was the career for him. Roberts has a variety of board experience and served as a councillor for the R.M. of Oakdale.

Nagy is a dedicated first-generation farmer from Ogema, Saskatchewan, growing durum, lentils, chickpeas, and canola. With an Agronomy Diploma from the University of Saskatchewan and over a decade of farming experience, Codie is passionate about sustainable agriculture and continuous learning, applying innovative practices in his operation. Actively involved in the community, Codie serves on several boards and volunteers locally.

Altrogge has been a dedicated farmer since 1992, managing Prairie Moon Farm Foods near St. Benedict, Saskatchewan, and growing a variety of grains. With a BComm in marketing from the University of Saskatchewan, he has extensive experience in communications, including a role with SaskCanola in 2008. Passionate about promoting canola oil, Dave also serves on several boards and is committed to supporting mental health in agriculture and advancing innovative marketing strategies.

Lung farms 3,200 acres near Humboldt, SK, balancing her role as a Professional Engineer with her family’s grain and oilseed operation. With nearly 25 years of engineering experience and a background in agricultural research, she is passionate about sustainable farming, policy development, and supporting Saskatchewan producers through initiatives like her past work with SaskFlax.
