SaskOilseeds Announces Results of Board Election

The election results for the newly formed Saskatchewan Oilseeds Development Commission (SaskOilseeds) have been tabulated.

SaskCanola and SaskFlax amalgamated this year and became SaskOilseeds, a producer-led organization supported by 17,000 levy-paying Saskatchewan canola growers and 3,000 levy-paying Saskatchewan flax growers.

Newly elected to the board is Patricia Lung of the Humboldt district. Re-elected directors are Dean Roberts of Coleville, Codie Nagy from Ogema, and Dave Altrogge of St. Benedict.

Lung farms 3,200 acres with her family’s grain and oilseed operation. She also has nearly 25 years of engineering experience and a background in agricultural research. She recently held a position on the former SaskFlax board.

Roberts grows wheat, barley, flax, lentils, peas and canola. He received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and all through school knew farming was the career for him. Roberts has a variety of board experience and served as a councillor for the R.M. of Oakdale.

Nagy is a dedicated first-generation farmer growing durum, lentils, chickpeas, and canola. He has an Agronomy Diploma from the University of Saskatchewan and over a decade of farming experience and is actively involved in the community, serving on several boards and volunteers locally.
