Shift Back to Warmer Pattern Good News for Farmers

Shift Back to Warmer Pattern Good News for Farmers

By Pam Knox

After a cold start to this week, with freezing conditions down into central Georgia and Alabama, a pattern shift is expected to bring warmer conditions back to the region for the next few weeks. This will allow farmers to take advantage of warmer soil temperatures to get corn and other crops into the ground in southern AL and GA and coastal areas of the Carolinas later this week, although Virginia and northern North Carolina as well as mountainous areas may continue to see occasional freezing weather, especially in the last few days of March. There will be plenty of dry days to get fieldwork done, but 1-2 inches of rain is expected through early April across the region so showers will help replenish soil moisture.

We are a family farm in Ontario showing you what we do on our farm to produce eggs and what goes on day to day. Every day we do chores, gather eggs and make feed. On our farm we plant the crops and harvest them to feed the chickens, also we start our laying hens from day old chicks and raise them to be the best birds they can be to give you a grade A quality egg. After we are finished looking after our chickens, anything could happen from washing, waxing, fixing, welding, working on engines, working on classic cars, and more. I hope everyone enjoys cheers.
