Cow/Calf grazing prices slightly higher
Grazing prices for summer 2015 are higher than 2014 in general. This is partly due to higher cattle prices and a lack of available land. Grazing prices for cow/calf pairs are only slightly higher than 2014 prices. There are some instances of grazing prices being as high as $75.00-80.00 per cow/calf pair1 (Table 1).

Yearling grazing prices increase slightly
The range of prices for Southwest South Dakota yearlings has increased slightly on average from 2014 prices (Table 2). While the most commonly reported rate was $20, there was a wider range of rates reported in 2015 vs. 2014.
Some yearling producers may experience difficulty in finding pasture and rangeland due to competition with cow/calf producers.
