SWM International Closing Winkler/Carman Facilities

SWM International will be shutting down its Winkler and Carman facilities with an anticipated closure date of December 31, 2021.

A company spokesperson says the development was driven by the late 2020 closure of the company’s Spotswood, New Jersey facility.

The Winkler/Carman sites together employ 20 full time individuals. The company says the employees will be given the option to apply for job openings in other company locations.

The Winkler facility, owned by SWM since 1985, harvests and collects flax straw and converts it into flax tow.
