The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association Announces New Board Members for 2024-2025

Winnipeg MB, – The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) welcomes two new board members for 2024-2025.  

Sandy Miller, Account Manager, Agriculture with Workplace Safety & Prevention Services and Cassandra Driedger, Communications Manager with BASF Canada Agricultural Solutions were elected by CASA’s membership to the seven-person Board of Directors.   

Driedger is a dedicated advocate for farm safety with deep roots in agriculture, having grown up on a mixed grain and cattle farm. She has extensive experience in communications, currently serving as the Manager, Internal Communication at BASF. In her role, she leads the BASF Safety Scouts program, promoting safety within the agricultural community.  

Miller, a seasoned leader in agricultural health and safety with over 19 years of experience, began her career with the Ontario Farm Safety Association. With extensive experience as a council member and supporter of Canadian Ag Safety Week initiatives, she has always been a passionate advocate for CASA.  

Miller and Driedger join a diverse board, with backgrounds ranging from agricultural safety to communications and rural health, the board is well-equipped to tackle the industry's challenges.  

Reelected in 2024, Peter Sykanda (Ontario Federation of Agriculture) continues in the position of Chair for the 2024-2025 year. Dean Anderson, the position of Vice-Chair and Bruce James (AGI) continues as Treasurer. Rounding out the executive is Shelley Kirychuk (Canadian Centre for Rural and Agricultural Health) as Secretary.   

Trevor Whalley (AgSafe BC) completes the Board of Directors.
