The Fruit and Vegetable Growers of Canada (FVGC) are looking for a dynamic leader to fill the position of Executive Director

Ottawa, ON— The Fruit and Vegetable Growers of Canada (FVGC) is excited to announce an opening for the position of Executive Director. FVGC is looking for an innovative and inspirational leader to guide our mission as we advocate for the growth and sustainability of the Canadian fruit and vegetable sector.

Jan VanderHout, President of FVGC explained, "We are seeking an inspirational leader to fill this role. The new Executive Director will be someone who knows how to tap into the collective strength of our staff and engage effectively with our stakeholders. The ability to build strong relationships is not just an asset—it's essential for the impactful advocacy work we do. As we chart the future course of FVGC, we're excited to welcome an individual who can inspire us all to reach new heights."

The ideal candidate will be a fluently bilingual leader with a deep understanding of federal policy, especially as it relates to the Canadian fresh fruit and vegetable sector. They will excel in stakeholder engagement, from board members to staff to government officials and demonstrate exceptional communication skills. With a strategic mindset, they will prioritize key issues and cultivate a collaborative and empowering work environment.

The Fruit and Vegetable Growers of Canada (FVGC) represents growers across the country involved in the production of over 120 different types of crops on over 14,000 farms, with a farm gate value of $5.9 billion in 2021. FVGC is an Ottawa-based voluntary, not-for-profit, national association, and, since 1922, has advocated on important issues that impact Canada’s fresh produce sector, promoting healthy, safe, and sustainable food, ensuring the continued success and growth of the industry.
