The Heartland Cattlemens Classic A Go In Stettler

As we know, a lot of farm shows were either cancelled over the past year or went virtual.

Although the number of new cases of COVID are starting to come down in most provinces, current restrictions mean many shows are still in limbo. Not so for the Heartland Cattlemen's Classic. It's going to be hosted by the Stettler Ag Society from February 5th to the 7th.  Dwayne Martin, one of the organizers of the show, shares more details on the event.  "The Stettler Ag Society put together this event last year to service the community and the industry to enable producers to come and showcase their product to perspective buyers."

According to Martin, this is a great event that appeals to many.  "Commercial cattlemen that are looking for a new bull for this coming up season and new genetics in the future.  Also, the seed stock and pure bred breeders that are looking for another bull for their programs."

The event will be held in person and Martin notes there was much work put in to be able to host the event.  "We worked closely with our local AHS officer and also hats off to our local MLA Nate Horner.  He did a lot of work to campaign for this event. We basically had to put it forward that we are doing are very best to meet all restrictions in place and we could do this event in the safest possible manner." The group has also hired a company to assist in meeting all of the current COVID-19 restrictions so the event can go ahead smoothly.
