Thompson to return to WGRF in a new role

The search for a new Executive Director for the Western Grains Research Foundation is over.

Wayne Thompson will replace Garth Patterson when he retires in December after eleven years in the role.

WGRF Board Chair Dr. Keith Degenhardt says they believe Wayne’s background and experience in agriculture research and his education make him uniquely suited to serve as the WGRF Executive Director.

Thompson has been the Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Flax Development Commission for the past eight years and President of the Flax Council of Canada for the past two years.

Prior to that he worked as a Research Program Manager for WGRF which gives him a great understanding of the organization.
