Todd Janzen to deliver keynote on Ag Data Transparent in Canada

EMILI is thrilled to welcome Todd J. Janzen to Winnipeg November 7, 2024 to present a keynote address on the role of Ag Data Transparent in strengthening communication with farmers about agriculture data at the fifth annual Agriculture Enlightened Conference.
In addition to serving as an administrator at the non-profit organization Ag Data Transparent, Janzen is an attorney and co-founder of Janzen Schroeder Agricultural Law LLC, a law firm dedicated to serving the needs of farmers, ag technology providers, and agribusinesses, located in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He grew up on a grain and livestock farm in Kansas, and has testified before the US Senate and US House subcommittees on issues concerning ag data collection, privacy, and technology.

Janzen will provide insight into the origins of the Ag Data Transparent organization, the lessons learned over the past decade, and emerging trends like AI and traceability impacting agtech and agriculture data. The keynote presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with Canadian agtech companies that have achieved ADT certification such as Winnipeg’s GrainFox; a data-driven grain marketing platform designed to help producers build a clearer path from bin to bank.

GrainFox’s Chief Growth Officer Liz Pham will be among a panel of key stakeholders from the Canadian agriculture sector discussing the role ADT can play in building a strong agriculture data ecosystem in Canada

“Ag Data Transparent plays an important role in helping agtech companies be transparent with their farmer customers about their farm data management practices and contracts,” said EMILI Director of Agri-food Data Dan Lussier who also serves as vice president of ADT’s Board of Directors. “This session is an opportunity to hear directly from ADT Administrator Todd Janzen and to learn more about how ADT empowers growers to make smart, strategic decisions about their farm data.”

2024 marks EMILI’s fifth year hosting its annual Agriculture Enlightened conference in Winnipeg. Join us on November 7, 2024 as we dive into the theme Unlocking Canada’s Innovation and Productivity Paradigm. A full day of keynote and panel discussions will explore diverse perspectives on productivity along the agriculture value chain, innovation taking place across Canada’s smart farm network, and  ways to responsibly use data and digital tools on the farm.
