Undergrads Invited to apply for CME Beef Industry Scholarships

Exciting news for students eyeing a career in the beef industry: The National Cattlemen’s Foundation (NCF) is now welcoming applications for the 2024 CME Group Beef Industry Scholarship. Originating in 1989 with CME Group’s backing, the scholarship will grant $1,500 to ten exceptional students committed to the industry’s future.

This opportunity is open to students across various fields, including education, communication, production, and research, aiming to support and identify the industry's future leaders. “Our longstanding partnership with NCF and NCBA ensures educational opportunities for the industry's aspiring minds,” Derek Sammann of CME Group remarked.

Eligibility extends to graduating high school seniors or full-time undergraduate students enrolled in two- or four-year institutions. The application involves a one-page letter detailing their career objectives, a 750-word problem-solving essay related to the beef industry, and two letters endorsing the candidate’s abilities. Importantly, membership in the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association by the applicant or a relative is mandatory.

The deadline for hopefuls is November 10, 2023. The scholarship beneficiaries will be announced at the forthcoming CattleCon24 event in Orlando. Visit the NCF website to learn more or submit an application. The scholarship is part of NCF's broader educational and charitable activities in support of the cattle industry.
