USDA Export Sales Report

 
Wheat:  Net sales of 234,900 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2016/2017 were down 64 percent from the previous week and 54 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (141,700 MT, including decreases of 4,900 MT), the Philippines (77,900 MT, including 63,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 2,000 MT), Venezuela (30,000 MT), Colombia (12,600 MT), Honduras (11,500 MT), Morocco (10,100 MT, including 10,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Singapore (10,000 MT).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (67,200 MT), Algeria (2,500 MT), Costa Rica (1,200 MT), and Japan (700 MT).  Exports of 327,100 MT were up 24 percent from the previous week, but down 28 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were the Philippines (169,900 MT), Algeria (52,500 MT), Japan (31,700 MT), Peru (16,500 MT), and Mexico (12,900 MT).
 
Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account outstanding balance totals 24,900 MT, all Canada.
 
Corn:  Net sales of 1,473,500 MT for 2016/2017 were up 84 percent from the previous week and 24 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were for Japan (219,400 MT, including 112,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 23,800 MT), Mexico (206,100 MT, including decreases of 16,100 MT), Cuba (204,300 MT), Colombia (196,100 MT, including 75,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 5,300 MT), and South Korea (188,800 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 200 MT).  Reductions were for El Salvador (13,600 MT), Costa Rica (5,300 MT), and Vietnam (700 MT).  Exports of 868,700 MT were up 66 percent from the previous week, but down 13 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (163,800 MT), Japan (144,000 MT), Colombia (141,600 MT), South Korea (127,000 MT), Egypt (56,700 MT), Peru (41,400 MT), and Jordan (32,700 MT).
 
Optional Origin Sales:  For 2016/2017, the current optional origin outstanding balance totals 345,000 MT, and is for unknown destinations (280,000 MT) and Taiwan (65,000 MT).
 
Barley: Net sales of 300 MT for 2016/2017 were reported for Taiwan (200 MT) and South Korea (100 MT).  Exports of 700 MT were reported to Vietnam (500 MT) and Japan (200 MT). 
 
Sorghum: Net sales of 404,000 MT for 2016/2017--a marketing-year high--were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (316,000 MT), unknown destinations (50,000 MT), Mexico (33,000 MT), and Japan (5,000 MT).  Exports of 39,100 MT were down 37 percent from the previous week, but up 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were China (33,000 MT) and Mexico (6,100 MT). 
 
Rice:  Net sales of 42,700 MT for 2016/2017 were down 46 percent from the previous week and 50 percent from prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (18,600 MT, including decreases of 1,300 MT), Guatemala (10,500 MT, including 2,700 MT switched from unknown destinations), Haiti (7,200 MT), Saudi Arabia (3,500 MT), and Canada (1,500 MT).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (2,700 MT).  Exports of 92,200 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and up 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Venezuela (30,000 MT), Mexico (17,300 MT), Haiti (14,000 MT), Japan (13,500 MT), and Guatemala (8,000 MT).   
 
Exports for Own Account:  The current outstanding balance totals 200 MT, all Canada.
 
Soybeans:  Net sales of 2,514,100 MT for 2016/2017--a marketing-year high--were up 28 percent from the previous week and 34 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (2,069,200 MT, including 613,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 29,900 MT), Germany (151,700 MT), Thailand (139,900 MT, including 128,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (130,200 MT, including decreases of 9,100 MT), and Saudi Arabia (69,400 MT, switched from unknown destinations).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (363,200 MT).  For 2017/2018, net sales of 60,000 MT were reported for Spain.  Exports of 2,932,600 MT--a marketing-year high--were up 7 percent from the previous week and 48 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (2,087,700 MT), Germany (151,700 MT), Thailand (142,000 MT), Mexico (113,700 MT), and Saudi Arabia (69,400 MT).    
 
Optional Origin Sales:  For 2016/2017, the current optional origin sales outstanding balance totals 235,000 MT, all China. 
 
Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 29,900 MT were reported to Canada.  Exports to Canada totaling 70,200 MT were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account outstanding balance totals 900 MT, all Canada.
 
Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to the Netherlands were adjusted down 75,873 MT for week ending October 13th and 75,840 MT for week ending October 20th.  The correct destination is Germany and is included in this week’s report. 
 
Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 301,000 metric tons were reported for 2016/2017.  Increases were for Colombia (84,200 MT, including 37,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 4,800 MT), the Philippines (45,700 MT), Vietnam (45,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (30,800 MT, including decreases of 500 MT), Guatemala (27,600 MT, including 6,900 MT switched from unknown destinations, 1,200 MT from El Salvador, 900 MT from Nicguara, and decreases of 3,300 MT), Cuba (24,600 MT), and Honduras (19,400 MT).  Reductions were for unknown destinations (23,400 MT) and Ecuador (21,100 MT).  For 2017/2018, net sales of 4,200 MT were reported for Mexico (4,100 MT) and Canada (100 MT).   Exports of 150,300 MT were reported to Colombia (41,700 MT), Mexico (37,100 MT), Japan (15,100 MT), Panama (11,100 MT), Canada (10,800 MT), Guatemala (6,700 MT), and El Salvador (5,400 MT). 
 
Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 21,200 metric tons were reported for 2016/2017.  Increases were reported for Colombia (15,000 MT), Mexico (2,700 MT), Nicaragua (2,500 MT), and Canada (600 MT).  Exports of 13,300 MT were reported to Cuba (7,600 MT), Mexico (4,700 MT), Canada (800 MT), and Australia (100 MT).
 
Cotton:  Net upland sales of 160,400 RB for 2016/2017 were up 24 percent from the previous week, but down 25 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (29,800 RB, including decreases of 200 RB), Indonesia (29,400 RB, including decreases of 100 RB), Vietnam (26,800 RB, including 200 RB switched from Japan and decreases of 300 RB), Taiwan (14,200 RB), and South Korea (13,100 RB, including decreases of 3,200 RB).   Reductions were reported for Japan (3,000 RB).    For 2017/2018, net sales of 6,000 RB were reported for Mexico (5,100 RB) and Indonesia (900 RB).   Exports of 127,000 RB were unchanged from the previous week, but down 18 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Vietnam (28,900 RB), Indonesia (24,600 RB), Mexico (19,800 RB), Turkey (9,100 RB), and South Korea (6,600 RB).  Net sales of Pima totaling 2,200 RB for 2016/2017--a marketing-year low-- were down 70 percent from the previous week and 82 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported primarily for Egypt (500 RB), China (400 RB), Peru (400 RB), Indonesia (300 RB), and Japan (300 RB).  Exports of 7,600 RB were down 13 percent from the previous week, but up 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily China (4,900 RB), India (2,200 RB), Japan (200 RB), and Peru (100 RB).
 
Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 3,100 RB were reported to Vietnam (1,300 RB) and South Korea (1,800 RB).  Exports to Indonesia (8,800 RB), South Korea (900 RB), Taiwan (800 RB), and Vietnam (400 RB), were applied to new or outstanding sales.  Decreases were reported to Taiwan (900 RB), Indonesia (300 RB), Pakistan (100 RB), and Thailand (100 RB).  The current outstanding balance of 30,500 RB is for Taiwan (7,800 RB), China (7,300 RB), Vietnam (7,300 RB), Indonesia (4,900 RB), India (1,400 RB), South Korea (900 RB), Pakistan (500 RB), and (Thailand 400 RB).
 
Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 411,300 pieces, all whole cattle hides, reported for delivery in 2016 were down 25 percent from the previous week and 15 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (200,500 pieces, including decreases of 6,700 pieces), South Korea (134,600 pieces, including decreases of 1,700 pieces), Indonesia (27,900 pieces), Thailand (23,600 pieces, including decreases of 300 pieces), and Mexico (10,000 pieces, including decreases of 200 pieces).  Exports of 409,800 pieces were up 12 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 407,100 pieces were primarily to China (271,200 pieces), South Korea (91,000 pieces), Mexico (17,300 pieces), Thailand (8,100 pieces), and Taiwan (4,900 pieces).   
 
Net sales of 265,100 wet blues for 2016 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (73,700 unsplit and 36,700 grain splits), Taiwan (56,200 unsplit), Vietnam (49,800 unsplit), and Mexico (16,000 unsplit and 9,400 grain splits).  Reductions were reported for Japan (300 unsplit) and Brazil (100 unsplit).  Exports of 117,600 wet blues were up 2 percent from the previous week, but down 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Exports were primarily to China (32,400 unsplit and 10,700 grain splits), Italy (16,600 unsplit and 4,100 grain splits), Vietnam (19,900 unsplit), and Mexico (13,200 grain splits and 1,000 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 240,300 pounds for 2016 were reported for Hong Kong (205,500 pounds), Italy (27,400 pounds), and Vietnam (7,400 pounds).  Exports of 290,700 pounds were down 50 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were Vietnam (289,700 pounds) and South Korea (1,000 pounds).
 
Beef:  Net sales of 7,300 MT for 2016 were down 12 percent from the previous week and 46 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for South Korea (2,800 MT, including decreases of 600 MT), Mexico (1,900 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), Hong Kong (700 MT, including decreases of 300 MT), Canada (600 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), and Japan (300 MT, including decreases of 2,100 MT).  For 2017, net sales of 1,600 MT were primarily for South Korea (900 MT), Taiwan (500 MT), Hong Kong (100 MT), and Canada (100 MT).  Exports of 10,000 MT were down 24 percent from the previous week and 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were South Korea (2,900 MT), Japan (2,600 MT), Hong Kong (1,700 MT), Mexico (1,100 MT), and Taiwan (600 MT).
 
Pork:  Net sales of 17,400 MT for 2016 were down 40 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (8,600 MT), Japan (2,800 MT), Hong Kong (1,200 MT), China (1,200 MT), and Canada (1,000 MT).  For 2017, net sales of 1,400 MT were primarily for South Korea (800 MT), Australia (300 MT), Colombia (100 MT), and Chile (100 MT).  Exports of 22,300 MT were up 16 percent from the previous week and 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (8,200 MT), Japan (4,200 MT), South Korea (3,000 MT), Canada (1,500 MT), and Hong Kong (1,200 MT).
