USDA Export Sales Report

Wheat:   Net sales of 319,200 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were down 26 percent from the previous week and 14 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (223,100 MT, including 196,100 MT late reporting), Mexico (40,800 MT), Panama (38,700 MT), South Korea (31,400 MT), and the Philippines (28,200 MT).  Decreases were reported for Brazil (66,000 MT), unknown destinations (37,200 MT), and the French West Indies (7,000 MT).  Net sales reductions of 6,000 MT for 2015/2016 resulted as increases for Colombia (10,000, MT), were more than offset by decreases for Peru (16,000 MT).  Exports of 449,600 MT were down 13 percent from the previous week, but up 54 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (258,800 MT, including 196,100 MT late reporting), Peru (45,100 MT), the Philippines (23,000 MT), Trinidad (20,700 MT), Panama (20,600 MT), Italy (20,300 MT), South Korea (17,400 MT), and Honduras (17,000 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, decreases totaling 10,000 MT were reported for Algeria.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 10,000 MT, all Algeria.

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 600 MT to Italy were applied to new or outstanding sales.  Decreases in exports for own account totaling 500 MT were reported to Italy.  The current exports for own account balance is 30,700 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 1,170,700 MT for 2014/2015 were up 24 percent from the previous week and 65 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for Mexico (304,400 MT), Japan (236,000 MT, including 44,400 MT switched from unknown destinations), Peru (131,300 MT, including 120,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), South Korea (122,700 MT), Costa Rica (109,600 MT), and unknown destinations (91,700 MT).  Decreases were reported for El Salvador (21,500 MT), the French West Indies (4,500 MT), Taiwan (3,500 MT), and Haiti (3,000 MT).  Exports of 746,400 MT were primarily to Mexico (182,800 MT), Peru (177,500 MT), Japan (92,700 MT), Egypt (66,000 MT), Guatemala (63,400 MT), and Colombia (58,500 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, optional origin sales totaling 68,000 MT were reported for South Korea.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 68,000 MT, all South Korea.

Barley:  Net sales of 2,400 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for Japan.  Exports of 34,600 MT--a marketing-year high--were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were Japan (34,400 MT) and the Philippines (200 MT).

Sorghum: Net sales of 393,900 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for China (277,900 MT) and unknown destinations (116,000 MT).  Exports of 111,200 MT were reported primarily to China.  

Rice:  Net sales of 152,500 MT for 2014/2015  were reported for Iraq (120,000 MT), Japan (24,700 MT), Guatemala (5,400 MT, including 4,400 MT switched from unknown destinations, 1,100 MT switched from El Salvador, and decreases of 500 MT), Taiwan (4,000 MT), and Canada (1,300 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (4,400 MT) and El Salvador (1,600 MT).  Exports of 64,400 MT were down 6 percent from the previous week 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Honduras (14,600 MT), Mexico (13,800 MT), Guatemala (10,500 MT), El Salvador (9,400 MT), and Costa Rica (3,100 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 1,179,700 MT for 2014/2015 were down 16 percent from the previous week, but up 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily for China (767,800 MT, including 299,900 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 47,600 MT), Germany (157,000 MT), Taiwan (118,100 MT), the Netherlands (84,500 MT, including 81,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 2,400 MT), Japan (70,300 MT), and Spain (63,300 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Exports of 2,037,100 MT were down 25 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (1,343,100 MT), Germany (157,000 MT), the Netherlands (84,500 MT), Mexico (81,900 MT), Vietnam (73,500 MT), Spain (63,300 MT), Indonesia (39,400 MT), and Taiwan (38,000 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 950,000 MT, and are for China (829,000 MT), Egypt (61,000 MT), and unknown destinations (60,000 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 34,500 MT to Canada were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 7,000 MT, all Canada.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to the Netherlands were adjusted down 40,285 MT for week ending October 9th, down 40,577 MT for week ending November 6th, and down 76,140 MT for week ending November 20th.  The correct destination for these shipments is Germany and is included in this week’s report.  Accumulated exports to China were adjusted down 60,454 MT for week ending November 13th.   This shipment was reported twice.

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 226,800 MT for 2014/2015 were primarily for the Philippines (111,800 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (47,800 MT), Italy (40,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Venezuela (20,000 MT), Colombia (13,600 MT, including 5,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 5,500 MT), and Canada (13,400 MT).   Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (55,800 MT), Nicaragua (2,500 MT), the French West Indies (2,000 MT), and Haiti (1,500 MT).  Net sales of 400 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Canada.  Exports of 207,000 MT were down 50 percent from the previous week and 24 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Vietnam (53,600 MT), Turkey (26,500 MT), Tunisia (20,000 MT), Guatemala (18,400 MT), and Mexico (15,500 MT).   

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 25,100 MT for 2014/2015 were down 30 percent from the previous week, but up 18 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for Morocco (15,000 MT), Mexico (4,300 MT), Guatemala (3,900 MT), and the Dominican Republic (1,700 MT).  Decreases were reported for Canada (100 MT).  Exports of 55,500 MT--a marketing-year high--were up noticeably from the previous week and the prior 4-week average.   The primary destinations were Colombia (27,000 MT), Peru (22,800 MT), and Mexico (5,200 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 167,000 RB for 2014/2015 were down 45 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for China (38,000 RB, including 2,900 RB switched from Hong Kong), Indonesia (37,400 RB), South Korea (18,500 RB), Turkey (16,600 RB), and India (15,000 RB).  Decreases were reported for Hong Kong (300 MT).  Exports of 106,600 RB were down 1 percent from the previous week, but up 32 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (36,800 RB), Turkey (9,800 RB), Mexico (9,400 RB), Peru (9,100 RB), and Thailand (6,500 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 300 RB for 2014/2015 were down 93 percent from the previous week and 96 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for Peru (200 RB) and Turkey (200 RB).  Exports of 7,500 RB--a marketing-year high--were up 13 percent from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (7,000 RB) and Taiwan (300 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 16,200 RB, and are for Thailand (11,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB). 

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 53,500 RB, all China.

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 253,700 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were down 20 percent from the previous week and 31 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (155,600 pieces), South Korea (59,500 pieces), Taiwan (15,800 pieces), Thailand (10,300 pieces), and Mexico (9,700 pieces).  Exports of 352,000 pieces were up 22 percent from the previous week and 1 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 350,600 pieces were to China (259,100 pieces), South Korea (72,000 pieces), Mexico (6,300 pieces), Thailand (5,000 pieces), and Taiwan (4,500 pieces).

Net sales of 50,500 wet blues for 2014 were down 63 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for China (32,100 unsplit and 31,700 grain splits), Vietnam (20,800 unsplit), Mexico (6,800 grain splits and 4,400 unsplit), and the Dominican Republic (8,000 unsplit), were partially offset by decreases for Italy (26,000 unsplit and 11,400 grain splits) and South Korea (20,500 unsplit and 3,600 grain splits).  Net sales of 86,500 wet blues for 2015 were reported for Italy (26,000 unsplit and 11,400 grain splits), South Korea (20,500 unsplit and 3,600 grain splits), Taiwan (12,700 unsplit), and China (6,500 unsplit and 5,900 grain splits).  Exports of 121,900 wet blues were primarily to China (43,800 unsplit and 7,200 grain splits), Italy (19,200 unsplit and 1,800 grain splits), Mexico (13,400 grain splits and 4,400 unsplit), and Vietnam (16,000 unsplit).  Net sales reductions of splits totaling 498,700 pounds--a marketing-year low--for 2014 resulted as increases for Italy (42,100 pounds) and Hong Kong (2,800 pounds), were more than offset by decreases for South Korea (543,500 pounds).  Net sales of splits totaling 5,473,200 pounds for 2015 were for South Korea (5,432,500 pounds) and China (40,700 pounds).  Exports of 846,400 pounds were reported to South Korea (746,400 pounds) and Taiwan (10,000 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 7,600 MT for 2014 were down 33 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (2,600 MT), Mexico (1,800 MT), South Korea (1,300 MT), Hong Kong (700 MT), and Canada (600 MT).  Net sales of 4,200 MT for 2015 were reported for Japan (4,000 MT) and Taiwan (100 MT).  Exports of 11,300 MT were down 8 percent from the previous week and 13 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (3,200 MT), Hong Kong (2,300 MT), South Korea (2,000 MT), Mexico (1,800 MT), and Canada (900 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 2,000 MT for 2014--a marketing-year low--were down 89 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Hong Kong (1,500 MT), Japan (1,300 MT), Columbia (800 MT), China (500 MT), and the Philippines (200 MT).  Decreases were reported for Mexico (900 MT), Australia (800 MT), South Korea (800 MT), and Canada (300 MT).  Net sales of 2,900 MT for 2015 were reported for Australia (1,200 MT), South Korea (800 MT), Japan (500 MT), Chile (200 MT), and Mexico (100 MT).  Exports of 18,700 MT were primary to Mexico (5,100 MT), Japan (3,600 MT), South Korea (2,800 MT), Canada (1,900 MT), and China (1,300 MT).
