What Will 2021 Offer

By Gary Cross

As 2020 closes planning for 2021 in agriculture has already began. The wheat crop has had quite a bit of rain get out and check tillers when it dries up see what you have. You may be looking at a Late January application of nitrogen  on your wheat if dry enough. If the wheat is thin you can always make hay out of it. 2021 will be a better year. Soon greenhouses will have tobacco plants growing and before we know it we are back in the field. Prices have been better than the last few years on most commodities. Mitigate with strong emergence and focus on how I can get the most uniform emergence from the crop such planter calibration, starter fertilizer , high quality germinating seed, soil temperatures. The better the uniformity the higher the yield.
