Flail Mower
The flail mower is a type of powered agriculture and garden equipment used to cut heavier grasses and scrubs. The flail mower goes by many names including: flail mulcher, flail shredder, flail chopper and stalk chopper. The smaller models are self-powered but many of the larger models have implements that can be attached to three-point hitches found on the rear end of most tractors. The flail mower is best used to provide a rough cut to taller grass where debris is present, such as a roadside. This is due to the flail’s ability to strike and bounce of objects instead of lifting and throwing them which potentially causes damage.
